What better way to say ‘Good-bye’ to summer than with a Labor Day backyard BBQ! Now is the time for planning and preparing to host a fabulous party that will create memories to last a lifetime. Rug & Home has curated 5 essentials to guarantee that your Labor Day party is a hit!
Deciding what to serve during your backyard soiree can be a daunting task. Especially when as a host or hostess it can be impossible to enjoy your own party as you are serving and cleaning. A burger bar maybe a great option to allow your guests to make their own burger while giving you the freedom to walk away and socialize!
Offering your guests a cool drink is one of the must-haves of a great backyard BBQ. And with this fresh cold glass of blue lemonade it will definitely be a treat for children and adults alike!
Ingredients-
Puree the blueberries and blackberries and pour the contents through a strainer to remove chunks. In a saucepan, add sugar and ½ cup of water heating on medium until the sugar dissolves this-should take around 5 minutes. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the rest of the cold water and the freshly squeezed lemon juice. Add freshly cut lemons for garnish.
Any outdoor party needs plenty of seating, and a stain-resistant area rug to complete the party scene. The easiest option when it comes to seating is utilizing garden stools. These stools are perfect for the outdoors as they are weather resistant and look fantastic in the garden when they are not in use. Adding a pet-friendly and durable area rug to your outdoor space will also make your party area exceedingly welcoming. Also, to keep your backyard BBQ casual, the area rug will also provide extra seating for the children to gather picnic-style!
To keep clean-up to a minimum without compromising on style, use gift wrapping paper on your table as runner. It’s super easy and you won’t care if your guests spill something on it!
Now that your BBQ is almost completely planned, all that is left is to provide some cool games to keep the kiddos entertained! A great idea to keep your younger guests amused is this DIY Passing Practice Tarp.
Simply cut out several sized squares in a tarp, line the edges with colorful duct tape; and mark each cut out with a different point value. This game is perfect for your future quarter back, or for just plain fun! Make it a game by seeing who can get the most points in only 10 throws!
Nothing left to do but invite your guests and celebrate the end of summer with your Labor Day backyard BBQ!
Have an idea not listed? We would love to hear from you!
