Founded in 1995 by passionate interior design enthusiasts, our company started as a small showroom in Asheville, North Carolina. What began as a dream to share beautiful, handcrafted rugs with local homeowners has grown into one of the region's most trusted names in luxury home furnishings.
Our founders recognized a gap in the market for truly exceptional home furnishings. They envisioned spaces where customers could experience luxury in an intimate, personalized setting – far from the impersonal big-box retail experience.
This vision drove us to establish direct relationships with artisans and manufacturers worldwide, ensuring we could offer authentic, high-quality pieces at fair prices while maintaining the personal touch that makes each customer's journey special.
Growing from a single showroom to five locations across North and South Carolina.
Our first showroom opened in the beautiful mountain city of Asheville, specializing in handwoven rugs and traditional furniture.
Opened our second location in Gaffney, South Carolina, bringing luxury home furnishings to the Palmetto State.
Established our flagship location in Kannapolis, featuring our largest showroom and most comprehensive collection.
Opened in the Charlotte metro area, bringing our premium collections closer to North Carolina's largest city.

Rug & Home is proud to be supporting the ancient art form of rug weaving, which has survived through the centuries. This incredible art form produces the magnificent masterpieces that we offer to our customers. It is still done the same way that it was done 2500-3000 years ago.
Every rug that goes into Rug & Home's showrooms is hand selected and inspected by our buyers. Many of these rugs are brought to you exclusively, directly from the weavers who hand make them.
